• 1944 - The Messerschmitt me 262 the first combat jet makes its first flight.
• 1945 - WW2: German radio broadcasts news of Adolf Hitler's death, falsely stating that he has "fallen at his command post in the Reich Chancellery, fighting to the last breath against Bolshevism and for Germany". The Soviet flag is raised over the Reich Chancellery, by order of Stalin.
• 1970 - Cambodian incursion - combined US and Army of the Republic initiated operation TOAN THANG 43 in the Fishhook area of Cambodia, called the Sanctuary Offensive.
